Are you struggling with completing daily tasks? Do you often feel overwhelmed or stuck? Do you experience life a little differently than those around you? If so, you are not alone.
I am passionate about working with neurodiverse folx and people who have experienced trauma. My focus over the last three years has been in supporting people with a traumatic brain injury or stroke, ADHD, and complex trauma, as well as caregivers. I also have training and experience in providing counselling to people who have speech challenges (such as aphasia and dysarthria).
My passion comes from both my interest in mental health and my own lived experience navigating the world as a Neurospicy, Queer woman. My approach to counselling is a collaborative one. I aim to create an affirming and respectful environment where we can explore your thoughts, values, goals, concerns, and skills in a genuine way. I honestly believe that everyone can live a meaningful life (including you). I mainly practice from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy lens, but I will often include information and tools from other types of therapy for a more individualized approach.
I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers, and I am authorized for Restricted Psychosocial Interventions (assessment and treatment of mental health disorders that make daily functioning difficult for a variety of reasons). I have a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary, specializing in Clinical Social Work with Individuals, Families, and Groups. I am deeply committed to lifelong learning and providing the best mental health care I can to everyone I have the chance to support.
Outside of work, you will often see me (or rather not see me) at home reading, engaging with my various hobbies, or snuggling up with my partner and my cats in front of the TV.
