Fees For Services – Counselling Calgary

We follow the recommended fees for Registered Psychologists by the Psychologists Association of Alberta. From 1 January 2025, fees will increase to $235 per standard therapy hour (50 minutes) for Registered Psychologists. Extended sessions are 80 minutes and cost $352.50

Our Registered Provisional Psychologists charge $220 per standard therapy hour (50 minutes). Extended sessions are 80 minutes and cost $330.

Our Registered Social Workers charge between $160 and $220 per standard therapy hour (50 minutes). Please check with your clinician for extended session pricing.

Our Canadian Certified Counsellors charge between $160 and $200 per standard therapy hour (50 minutes). Please check with your clinician for extended session pricing.

Our Registered Provisional Psychologists, Registered Social Workers, and Canadian Certified Counsellors can offer a sliding scale to those who can demonstrate need.

For counselling Calgary, our counselling student interns offer individual counselling to those 13 and older on a ‘pay-what-you-can up to $50’ basis and nobody is turned away for cost reasons. No proof of eligibility is required.

Assessments

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment for Children and Adults $2,750

This includes investigation of (when relevant):

• Intellectual/Cognitive Abilities
• Learning Disorders/Disabilities/Giftedness
• Behavioural Challenges
• Social-Emotional Challenges
• ADHD

Cognitive and Academic Assessment $2,200

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment AND Autism Assessment $3,500

Comprehensive Child or Adult Autism Assessment $3,000 (If less formal assessments is required, price will be charged per hour up to $3,000)

Gifted Assessment (Cognitive only) $1,100 (for Westmount Charter). If giftedness criteria is not met and a report is not required, the cost is $660.

Adult ADHD Specific from $1,200 (the cost may be higher if more testing is required).

We provide some direct billing services – check with your psychologist.

We have psychologists who are approved providers for:

• Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
• Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
• Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
• Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)

For Registered Provisional Psychologists, we can direct bill Alberta Blue Cross and GreenShield Canada. Most insurance will cover services from Registered Provisional Psychologists if your plan includes psychological services. Check with your insurance company.
