Fees for Counselling and Assessments in Calgary
At Solasta, we follow the recommended fee schedule set by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. We offer direct billing to most major insurers, and sliding scale rates are available to those who demonstrate financial need. Counselling
Registered Psychologists — $235 per 50-minute session | $352.50 per 80-minute session
Registered Provisional Psychologists — $220 per 50-minute session | $330 per 80-minute session
Registered Social Workers — $220 per 50-minute session | $330 per 80-minute session
Canadian Certified Counsellors — $160–$200 per 50-minute session. Please check with your clinician for extended session pricing.
Counselling Student Interns — Free for individuals aged 10 and older.
Sliding scale fees may be available through our Registered Provisional Psychologists, Registered Social Workers, and Canadian Certified Counsellors. Please contact us to discuss.
Assessments
All assessments include multiple sessions, detailed scoring and interpretation, and a comprehensive written report with recommendations. A feedback session is included to walk you through findings in plain language.
Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment (children and adults) — $2,950 Covers intellectual and cognitive abilities, learning disorders, disabilities, giftedness, behavioural and social-emotional challenges, and ADHD where relevant.
Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment + Autism Assessment — $3,750
Comprehensive Child or Adult Autism Assessment — $3,250 If a less formal assessment is required, fees are charged per hour up to $3,250.
Gifted Assessment (Cognitive only) — $1,100 (Westmount Charter) If giftedness criteria are not met and a report is not required, the cost is $660.
Adult ADHD Assessment — from $1,500 The final cost may be higher if additional testing is required.
Insurance Coverage for Counselling in Calgary
Sessions with our Registered Psychologists and Registered Social Workers can typically be direct billed to most major insurers. Individual plans vary — we will always attempt to direct bill on your behalf, but you may be asked to pay directly and submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

Registered Provisional Psychologists: Direct billing is available for Alberta Blue Cross, GreenShield, and Sun Life. Most other insurance plans that include psychological services will reimburse — you will need to submit receipts directly to your insurer.
