Counselling & Therapy Fees in Calgary
We publish our fees openly. In Calgary, individual therapy typically ranges from $85 to $235 for a 50-minute session, depending on your clinician's level of registration — with free sessions available through our Student Counselling Intern program. We follow the recommended fee schedule set by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, offer direct billing to most major insurers, and have some sliding scale rates available. These rates apply whether you're booking individual, couples, or family counselling, and whether you meet online or in person. If you have questions before booking, we're happy to help on a free consultation call.
Counselling Fees
These rates follow the Psychologists' Association of Alberta's recommended fee schedule, so you're never paying above standard Calgary therapy rates regardless of which clinician you choose. Counselling Interns have completed their practicum and continue with us in a paid capacity while building toward full registration, offering sessions at a reduced rate. Student Counselling Interns are currently completing their practicum placement and offer free sessions to individuals aged 10 and older. For exact fees, see individual therapist profiles. Some of our Registered Provisional Psychologists, Registered Social Workers, and Canadian Certified Counsellors may be able to offer sliding scale rates. Direct Billing & Insurance
Sessions with our Registered Psychologists and Registered Social Workers can typically be direct billed to most major insurers — meaning you pay only what your plan doesn't cover. Individual plans vary; we'll always attempt to direct bill on your behalf. If your plan doesn't allow direct billing, we'll provide a receipt you can submit for reimbursement.
Approved for
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) · Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) · Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) · Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). Contact us for details on how direct billing works under each program.
Check if we direct bill your insurer
For sessions with our Registered Provisional Psychologists, we can direct bill Alberta Blue Cross, Greenshield, and Sun Life. Most other insurance plans that include psychological services will reimburse — you'll submit receipts directly to your insurer.
