Our Fees

We publish our fees openly. We follow the recommended fee schedule set by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, offer direct billing to most major insurers, and have sliding scale rates available for those who demonstrate financial need. Assessments

Every assessment at Solasta includes multiple sessions, detailed scoring and interpretation, a comprehensive written report with recommendations, and a feedback session to walk you through findings in plain language.

Direct Billing & Insurance

Sessions with our Registered Psychologists and Registered Social Workers can typically be direct billed to most major insurers — meaning you pay only what your plan doesn't cover. Individual plans vary; we'll always attempt to direct bill on your behalf. If your plan doesn't allow direct billing, we'll provide a receipt you can submit for reimbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on what you're working on. Some clients find significant relief in 6–8 sessions; others benefit from ongoing support over months or years. Your therapist will discuss a plan with you early on, and you can adjust as you go.
Yes. The free consultation is a short call to see if you and your therapist are a good fit. There's no charge, no commitment, and no obligation to book further sessions.
Several options: free sessions with a counselling student intern (when available, ages 10+), sliding scale fees with eligible clinicians, lower-rate clinicians (Canadian Certified Counsellors start at $160), or less frequent sessions (fortnightly or monthly). Bring it up at your consultation — we'll work with you.
For most major insurers (Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Greenshield, and many more) we bill your insurance directly — you pay only what isn't covered. If your plan doesn't allow direct billing, we provide a receipt for you to submit.
Both have completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in psychology. A Registered Psychologist has completed all licensing requirements and is independently regulated by the College of Alberta Psychologists. A Registered Provisional Psychologist has completed their education and is completing the supervised practice hours required for full registration. Both are fully qualified to provide psychological services, with Provisionals practising under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. Provisional rates are slightly lower.
We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, are charged at the full session fee. This allows your therapist to offer the time to another client if possible.
Yes. Whether you see your therapist in our NW Calgary office or online across Alberta, the fee is the same.
We accept credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), e-transfer, and cash. Credit cards are stored securely in our booking system and charged at the time of session. For direct billing clients, only the portion not covered by insurance is charged.
