Why the Right Match Matters
The research is clear — the single strongest predictor of a good therapy outcome is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. Credentials matter, but fit matters more. That’s why this tool asks about more than just the topic you want to work on — age, language, and whether you’re looking for counselling or a formal assessment all shape who’s actually the right match.
Counselling or Assessment — Which Do You Need?
Counselling is for people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, and more. Sessions are typically weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly and focus on building insight, developing coping strategies, and creating meaningful change.
Psychological assessments are formal evaluations conducted by registered psychologists — for ADHD, autism, learning differences, and more. If you want a diagnosis or a detailed report rather than ongoing support, this is the right starting point.
Not sure which you need? Select “Not Sure?” in the first question above and the quiz will help you figure it out.

FAQs
How does the Find Your Therapist quiz work?
The quiz asks a few short questions about what you’re looking for, who the therapy is for, your age range, language preferences, and whether you need counselling or an assessment. Based on your answers, it surfaces the Solasta clinicians most likely to be a good match. You can then read full profiles and book directly online.
What if I'm not sure whether I need counselling or an assessment?
That’s one of the most common questions we get. Select “Not Sure?” as your first answer and the quiz will guide you based on what you’re experiencing. You can also book a free 20-minute consultation call and we’ll help you figure out the right fit.
What happens if the quiz doesn't find a match?
That can happen depending on language or age preferences and current availability — if it does, reach out directly by phone or through our contact form and we’ll help you find the right person ourselves.
Am I committing to anything by completing this?
No — this is just a matching tool. You’ll see a shortlist of clinicians and can read their full profiles before deciding whether to book.
What if I start with one therapist and it turns out they're not the right fit for me?
That’s completely okay, and it happens more often than you might think. The relationship between you and your therapist is one of the biggest factors in whether counselling actually helps — sometimes more than the specific approach or credentials — so we’d rather you switch than stay with someone who isn’t quite right. There’s no process to navigate and no need to go back through the “Find a Therapist” tool. You can simply book directly with a different clinician whenever you’re ready. If it feels easier, you’re also welcome to mention it to your current therapist, raise it with our admin team, or reach out to the new therapist directly — whichever feels most comfortable. However you choose to make the change, it’s your call, and it’s one we fully support.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes — availability varies by clinician, but many of our therapists offer appointments outside the standard 9-to-5 window, including evenings and weekends, with some also offering Sunday virtual sessions. When you’re browsing therapist profiles or booking online, you can see each clinician’s available times directly in the calendar. If you’re not sure who offers the hours you need, just reach out and we’ll point you toward clinicians whose schedules fit.
