Support For Alberta Teachers

Teaching is demanding at the best of times. With the uncertainty and stress of a province-wide strike, many educators are feeling added pressure – both personally and professionally.

At Solasta Counselling, we want to support Alberta’s teachers during this time. For the duration of the strike, several of our clinicians are offering counselling sessions at a reduced rate of $120 per session (about half of our standard fee).

Why We’re Offering This

The current situation has created significant uncertainty for educators. You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety about the future of your work and your students

  • Strain in your personal or family relationships

  • Burnout from ongoing demands without resolution

  • Stress about finances, identity, or next steps

Counselling provides a confidential, compassionate space to talk openly, reduce stress, and regain balance. Our therapists can help you explore strategies for coping, building resilience, and protecting your well-being while you advocate for your profession.

Who Can Access This Support?

All teachers impacted by the strike are welcome. No proof of employment is required. Whether you’re a classroom teacher, substitute, or working in another teaching capacity, you are included.

Direct Billing and Easy Access

We understand cost is an added stress. To make counselling more accessible:

  • We direct bill to most major insurance providers

  • Sessions are $120 each during the strike period

  • Both in-person and virtual appointments are available
