Hi, I’m Jacquie. I am a practicum student pursuing a Master of Counselling Psychology at City University’s Calgary campus. I am passionate about creating a warm, safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
Before pivoting into a career in counselling, I spent over 15 years as a Chartered Accountant and finance professional. Recognizing that the most meaningful aspects of my career were building strong relationships and supporting team members through challenging circumstances inspired me to pursue counselling to connect with and help others navigate difficult experiences and life transitions.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, curiosity, and respect. You are the expert in your own life, and I strive to understand your lived experience within your unique context. Together, we can explore the problems you are facing, identify your strengths, and use evidence-based approaches to support your goals and move toward your version of growth and healing.
I look forward to supporting clients navigating major life transitions such as becoming a parent, caring for aging parents, career shifts, and the changes associated with older adulthood, as well as stress, anxiety, and workplace challenges.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, two kids, and the dog we “rescued” from Hawaii. You can often find us exploring the beautiful mountain landscapes of Alberta. I also enjoy running, biking, coaching youth sports, reading, cooking, gardening, and hanging out with friends.
If you are looking for a genuine and approachable person to support you as you puzzle through life’s many challenges, I would be honoured to work with you.
