About Cheryl

Helping with burnout, perfectionism, and the quiet exhaustion of high-achieving women, through a grounded, body-centred approach.

I bring a grounded, research-informed approach to therapy that helps even the most pragmatic clients feel comfortable, seen, and understood. My work blends evidence-based modalities with body-centred practices so clients can not only make sense of their experiences but also release the patterns, emotional imprints, and nervous-system responses that keep them feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I believe healing is both a cognitive and embodied process, and I support clients in reconnecting with the parts of themselves that need safety, compassion, and alignment.

With extensive experience facilitating DBT groups and workshops, including a DBT skills group for expecting mothers and mothers of young children, I support individuals navigating emotional dysregulation, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and the complex layers of recovery from difficult life experiences. My approach reflects a deep respect for the body’s wisdom, the brain’s capacity to heal, and the transformative power of connection and regulation. I often work with high-achievers, caregivers, and women who are exhausted from pushing through life while quietly carrying the weight of stress, expectations, and perfectionism.

I enjoy working with women, particularly young women and mothers, who want depth and authenticity in their healing process. I often work with people who are intuitive, reflective, and spiritually curious, and who are craving a space that honours both psychological insight and embodied wisdom, especially during identity transitions, postpartum seasons, burnout, spiritual shifts, or moments of feeling disconnected from themselves. I also support individuals healing from controlling relationships, religious trauma, and family-of-origin wounds, helping them rebuild trust in themselves, strengthen boundaries, and reclaim a grounded sense of self.

While DBT and ART form the foundation of my work, I integrate somatic and mind-body approaches, IFS-informed strategies, emotion-focused and attachment-based therapies, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and family-systems perspectives. My goal is to create a collaborative, steady therapeutic relationship that helps clients understand their internal world, create meaningful change, and experience greater emotional regulation and resilience.

Common areas I support include work-life balance, burnout, trauma and PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, maternal mental health, perfectionism, religious trauma, attachment wounds, and adoption and attachment-related concerns.

I also provide psychoeducational assessments, which are booked through Solasta’s free assessment call.
